New Mind School - Fundraising
Thank you for visiting our fundraising pages.
As you may be aware, New Mind has existed on school fees and charitable donations from members of the public over the past 15 years. It has been and is, however, the sacrifices and the charitable spirit of the teaching staff, past and present, that has formed the backbone of the School’s existence.
Although we are seeking funding opportunities from alternative sources, we value, very much, our independence which allows us a greater degree of self-determination with respect to our curriculum and the growing and varied needs of our community.
Our Education Development Programme for 2011 and beyond is towards developing the School to be a model for the effective education of our children - not just for the purpose of passing exams but for the instilling of life skills and nation-building subject knowledge, coupled with a positive attitude to apply them. Our aims are the changes we intend to bring about as a result of our work. In a summarised form, these include:

raising academic achievement for all levels of our students;

the expansion and development of our curriculum;
|
|
§
|
the acquisition of premises to accommodate greater numbers;
|
|
§
|
to remain independent through alternative income streams;
|
|
§
|
and, in the long term, to development a secondary education facility.

Our objectives are the activities we intend to undertake in order to bring about the changes mentioned. These include:

Continued Professional Development for all members of staff in Study Tech (proven educational study courses offered by Applied Scholastics UK);
|
|
§
|
Further Early Years Foundation Stage training and further training in Key Stage 1 & 2 education;
|
|
§
|
Further Information and Communication Technology training for staff and students;
|
|
§
|
The securing of funding for extra-
|
|
§
|
Securing and expanding a database of professionals in Education, Business and numerous other subject areas, via New Mind Trust events and meetings.
|
The “driving engine” behind these activities, first and foremost, will be the spirit of our staff, parents, students, trustees and supporters, and secondly the funds required to offset the costs of training, resources and our everyday outlays from running the School.
